Task Management

Creating a Taskโ
A task carries a title, due date, category, priority, notes, and โ if you have team members โ an assignee. Tasks can be linked to a specific goat when they're about one animal.
Categoriesโ
Tasks are grouped by the kind of work:
Feeding ยท Watering ยท Milking ยท Cleaning ยท Health Check ยท Breeding ยท Kidding ยท Maintenance ยท Other
Categorizing is what lets you see that barn maintenance keeps sliding while feeding never does.
Time of Dayโ
Tasks can be tagged ๐ Morning, โ๏ธ Midday, ๐ Evening, or ๐ Anytime. On a farm where chores cluster around milking, that's usually more useful than an exact time.
Auto-Generated Tasksโ
Some tasks create themselves from your records rather than from you:
- Heat return check after a breeding
- Pregnancy check at the appropriate interval
- Pre-kidding CDT and Selenium/BoSe ahead of a due date
These appear automatically when you record a breeding, dated from it. You don't need to create them, and they don't duplicate if you record the same breeding twice.
Completion Historyโ
Checking a task off records when it was done and by whom. Over a season that history answers questions memory can't โ when the barn was last properly cleaned, whether hooves are really being trimmed every eight weeks.
Recurring Workโ
Repeating chores are covered in Recurring Events & Chores.
Health protocols, treatment plans, and breeding records generate their own dated reminders. Adding parallel manual tasks for the same work gives you two lists that disagree โ and the one you trust will be the wrong one.
