Mobile vs Desktop
Herd Manager runs in any modern browser. Nothing to download, though there's an Android app on Google Play if you'd rather launch from an icon.
Mobile
The main tabs run along the bottom, with ☰ More for everything else. Touch targets are sized for gloved hands and the layouts scroll rather than squeeze.
This is where most real use happens — logging a weight at the scale, a treatment in the pen, milk in the parlour.
Opens full-screen with its own icon, like a native app. Same data, faster entry.
iPhone/Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen Android/Chrome: menu → Install app / Add to Home Screen
Desktop
All tabs visible at once in a top bar, and more on screen — wider tables, side-by-side comparisons, bigger charts.
Better for the jobs that involve looking at a lot at once: reviewing a season's production, planning breedings, reconciling finances, working through reports.
A Practical Split
Most farms end up using both, and the natural division is:

Everything Works Everywhere
There's no reduced mobile version. Every record, report, printable document, and setting is available on any device — the layout adapts, the features don't.
Browsers
Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge all work. Keeping the browser current matters more than which one you choose. See Browsers & Devices.
