Statusโ
Active โ In Herd ยท External Reference ยท For Sale ยท Coming Soon ยท Sold ยท Processed (Meat) ยท Deceased ยท Retired
Only Active counts toward the free plan limit. Archiving is separate and has its own flow.
It changes where the goat appears โ external goats leave herd counts, daily care, and pen assignments while staying available for pedigrees and breeding records. The app confirms because it's easy to do by accident and surprising when it happens.
Registration & IDโ
- Registry โ ADGA, AGS, MDGA, NDGA, ABGA, NPGA, CGS and others
- Registration number
- Tattoos โ left and right ear or tail web
- DNA case number
- Microchip
- Scrapie ID
Appearanceโ
Colour and marking options are breed-specific โ a Nigerian Dwarf offers different patterns from a Nubian, because the breeds genuinely have different recognized colours. There's also a free-text description for anything the pickers don't cover.
Parentageโ
Sire and dam can each be:
- A goat already in your herd
- An external parent โ name, farm, registration for an animal you don't own
- Found via global search across farms sharing to the community pedigree database
Parentage drives pedigrees and COI calculations.
Origin & Purchaseโ
Bred by, purchase date, purchase price, and seller. Purchase price feeds the per-animal cost picture in finances.
Finding Goatsโ
The Herd tab supports search by name, registration, or tag, plus filtering by breed, sex, status, and age, and sorting.
