Adding Photos
Open a goat's profile → 📷 Photos → add from your camera or photo library.
You can take the photo directly on a phone, which is usually how it happens — standing in the pen with the goat in front of you.
The Profile Photo
One photo per goat is the profile photo — the one shown in lists, cards, and marketplace listings.
There's a checkbox when uploading to set the new photo as the profile picture. If a goat has no profile photo yet, the first one you upload becomes it automatically regardless, so nobody ends up with an empty profile header.
You can change which photo is the profile picture at any time from the photo itself.
Taking Useful Goat Photos
- Side profile, square on — the shot registries and buyers want, because it shows conformation
- Level with the goat, not looking down at her
- Natural daylight, overcast is kinder than bright sun
- Plain background — a barn wall or fence line, not a cluttered yard
- Legs visible and squarely set — feet hidden in tall grass hides exactly what a buyer is trying to see
- Multiple angles for sale animals: side, front, rear, and udder for does in milk
A photo at a year old and another at three tells you something a single picture can't — how she matured. It's also the difference between a sale listing that shows an animal and one that shows a snapshot.
Photos in Listings
Photos from a goat's profile appear in her marketplace listing, browsable as a gallery. Since photos are usually the first thing a buyer looks at, they're worth a few minutes.
Storage & Sync
Photos are stored in the cloud with your account and sync across devices — snap on your phone in the barn, see it on your laptop.
They're also the bulkiest thing in your records, so on a slow connection they may take a moment to appear on a second device.
