Logging Daily Milk Weights

Track exactly how much each doe produces, spot trends, and compare lactations over time.

How to Log Milk

  1. Go to the 🥛 Milk tab
  2. Tap + Add Milk Record
  3. Select the doe
  4. Enter the date and weight (lbs or kg)
  5. Optionally choose AM or PM milking
  6. Tap Save

You can also log milk from a goat's profile → Milk tab.

Viewing Production Data

The Milk tab shows daily totals per doe, lactation curves graphed over time, comparison charts across lactations or across does, and rolling averages (7-day, 30-day).

Tips

Log Consistently

Even rough estimates are better than gaps. The charts smooth out small variations, and trends are more valuable than individual data points.

Use AM/PM

If you milk twice a day, marking AM or PM lets the app combine them into daily totals automatically.

Start Lactation Periods

When a doe freshens, start a new lactation period (Goat Profile → Milk tab → Start Lactation). This enables "days in milk" tracking and year-over-year lactation comparisons.
