Lactation Curves & Charts

Visual charts help you understand production patterns and compare performance.

Lactation Curve​

Shows daily milk production plotted over days in milk (DIM). A typical curve shows rapid increase from freshening to peak (4-8 weeks), then gradual decline through the rest of the lactation.

Comparison Charts​

Compare production across multiple lactations for the same doe, multiple does in the same time period, or rolling averages (7-day, 30-day).

What the Charts Tell You​

  • Early peak, fast decline — May indicate nutritional deficiency or health issue
  • Steady production — Sign of good management and genetics
  • Year-over-year improvement — Your breeding program is working
  • Sudden drop — Check for mastitis, illness, or feed changes
