Herd Manager offers two plans. Both include every feature — the only difference is how many active goats you can track.

What Counts Toward the 10-Goat Limit
Only goats with an Active status count — that, or a newly added goat with no status set yet.
Status is a single field with these values:

So you can keep complete records — every goat you've ever owned, plus generations of ancestors — without any of it counting against the free plan.
For Sale and Coming Soon are values of the Status field, not extras on top of Active. A goat you've marked For Sale is no longer Active, so she stops counting toward the limit at that point rather than when she's marked Sold.
If your goat count looks higher than expected, the usual cause is goats that left the farm but were never marked Sold. Updating their status frees up space immediately.
Free Trial of Unlimited
If you hit the 10-goat limit and want to try Unlimited before committing, a 30-day free trial is available — no credit card required. Your herd stays exactly as it is when the trial ends; you simply return to the free plan's limit on adding new active goats.
Nothing is deleted when a trial or subscription ends. Records you've already created remain yours, viewable and exportable.
When to Upgrade
Most farmers start free and upgrade naturally when the herd grows past 10 active goats. There's no pressure before then, and you never lose features by staying free.
Unlimited Plan Pricing
- Monthly: $12/month
- Annual: $99/year (saves about 31% against monthly)
Manage either from Settings → Subscription. You can switch between monthly and annual, or cancel anytime.
Founding Farmer Program
Early supporters receive the Founding Farmer badge on their farm profile and are locked in at the best available rate. The badge is permanent and stays with your account, even if you cancel and resubscribe later.
