Document Storage & Management

Two different things live under Documents, and it helps to keep them straight:

  • Uploading files you've been given — registration papers, a CVI, a signed contract
  • Generating documents from your records — pedigree certificates, bills of sale, health histories

This page covers uploading. Generating is under Printable Reports.

Uploading a Document

From a goat's profile → 📄 Documents, or farm-wide from ☰ More → 📄 Documents.

Accepted file types: PDF, JPG, PNG, DOC, DOCX

A photo of a paper document works fine — most registration papers arrive as paper, and a clear phone photo is a perfectly good archive copy.

Farm-Wide vs. Per-Goat

Documents attached to a goat travel with that animal's record and can be included when you sell or transfer her. Documents that belong to the farm rather than an animal — insurance, licences, supplier contracts — live in the farm-wide Documents section.

Upload papers when they arrive

The registration certificate that gets filed in a drawer is the one you'll be hunting for at 9pm the night before a show. Photographing it on arrival takes ten seconds.
