Selling & Transferring Goats

When you sell a goat, Herd Manager helps you track the sale and optionally transfer the digital records to the buyer.

Recording a Sale​

  1. Open the goat's profile
  2. Tap Edit
  3. Change the status to Sold
  4. Optionally add sale details (date, price, buyer)
  5. Save

The goat moves out of your active herd but all historical records (milk, breeding, health) are preserved.

Digital Transfers​

If the buyer also uses Herd Manager, you can transfer the goat's digital record to them:

  1. Go to Marketplace → Transfers
  2. Select the goat to transfer
  3. Enter the buyer's email or farm name
  4. The buyer receives a transfer request and can accept it

When accepted, the goat appears in the buyer's herd with all the records you choose to include.

Generating Sale Documents​

Herd Manager can generate printable sale documents including:

  • Bill of Sale — Sale price, date, buyer/seller info
  • Health Certificate — Vaccination and test history
  • Pedigree — Multi-generation family tree

Go to the goat's profile → Documents tab to generate these.
