Marketplace
The marketplace connects buyers and sellers — and it's built into the app rather than being a separate site you have to maintain.
Listing a Goat for Sale
Sale status is its own field on a goat, separate from their status. A goat listed for sale is still Active in your herd — you set the sale status alongside it:
| Sale status | Means |
|---|---|
| For Sale | Listed and available now |
| ✅ Available | Available |
| Coming Soon | Not yet listed — visible as upcoming rather than purchasable |
Then add the sale details: asking price, a description, and any notes about what's included — registration papers, health testing, delivery, breeding guarantee.
Setting a goat to For Sale changes her status away from Active — which also means she stops counting toward the free plan's active-goat limit. See Free vs Unlimited.
Listings carry the profile photos and records you've chosen to share, so a buyer sees the animal properly rather than one blurry photo and a phone number.
Listing Products
Dairy, meat, and fiber products can all be listed — cheese, soap, meat shares, fleeces — alongside stud services.
Enquiries
Interested buyers enquire through the app. You get a notification and reply via messaging, with no obligation to publish your phone number.
Response time is most of your reputation in a marketplace. A buyer who doesn't hear back within a day generally buys elsewhere.
When a Sale Happens
Record it through Sell/Transfer rather than just deleting the listing. That marks the animal Sold, captures the buyer and price, feeds income tracking, and keeps her history intact in your records and her offspring's pedigrees.
