Goat Profile Deep Dive
Every goat in Herd Manager has a comprehensive profile with multiple tabs. Tap any goat in the Herd tab to open their profile.
Overview Tab
The default view showing key information at a glance: name, breed, age, status, registration, parents, and a summary of recent activity (latest milk records, upcoming due dates, recent health events).
Pedigree Tab
Visual family tree showing up to 4 generations of ancestors. Ancestors are color-coded by sex (blue for bucks, pink for does). Tap any ancestor to view their profile if they're in your herd.
The pedigree also shows the Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI) when enough lineage data is available.
Genetics Tab
Track genetic test results, coat color genetics, casein variants, and other DNA-based information. Useful for planned breedings and marketing.
Weight & BCS Tab
Log body weights over time and Body Condition Scores (BCS). The app charts weight trends so you can spot growth patterns or health concerns. Great for monitoring kids, pregnant does, and bucks in rut.
Milk Tab
For does — view daily milk production, lactation curves, lactation period summaries, and comparison charts. Start and end lactation periods here. See Logging Milk for details.
Fiber Tab
For fiber breeds (Angora, Pygora, Nigora, etc.) — track fleece weights, fiber diameter, and shearing records.
Market Value Tab
Track the estimated market value of a goat over time. Useful for insurance, sales pricing, and herd valuation.
Breeding Tab
Complete breeding history — all breeding events, pregnancies, kidding records, and offspring. See at a glance how many kids a doe has produced and their outcomes.
Health Tab
All health events for this goat — vaccinations, dewormings, hoof trims, vet visits, medications, and protocol compliance. Add events directly from here or from the Health tab.
Shows Tab
Show entries, results, placements, championship points, and linear appraisal scores for this goat.
Documents Tab
Attach and manage documents — registration papers, health certificates, sale receipts, test results, and any other files.
Notes Tab
Free-form notes about the goat. Great for temperament observations, quirks, feed preferences, or anything that doesn't fit elsewhere.
Photos Tab
Upload and manage photos of the goat. The first photo becomes the profile picture shown in lists and cards throughout the app.
