What It Shows​

  • Herd totals — daily, monthly, and season output
  • Per-doe production — who's carrying the herd
  • Lactation comparisons — a doe against her own previous lactations
  • Top producers — ranked by total, average, or persistence

Total vs. Average vs. Persistence​

Three different questions, and the answer changes depending which you ask:

  • Total rewards a long lactation. Useful for annual output.
  • Daily average rewards peak. Useful for comparing does at different lactation stages.
  • Persistence — how well she holds production after peak — is often the most valuable and least noticed. A doe who peaks lower but holds it can out-produce a flashier one over 305 days.

305-Day Projections​

Where enough data exists, Herd Manager projects a doe's 305-day total from her lactation so far, so you can evaluate a first freshener months before her lactation ends. See Lactation Curves and the forecasting explainer for how that's calculated.

Official Tests vs. Daily Logs​

Both feed these reports. DHIA tests carry components — butterfat, protein, SCC — and are the official record. Daily logs give you the shape of the lactation between test days. Neither replaces the other.

Exporting​

Production data exports to CSV, and the printable version is formatted for sharing with a tester, a buyer, or your own records.
