Roles & Permissions
Team access exists so the people helping on your farm don't need your password. Each member signs in as themselves, and what they can do depends on their role.
The Roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| 👑 Admin | Everything — records, settings, finances, and managing other team members |
| ✏️ Editor | Create and edit records: goats, health, milk, breeding, tasks |
| 👁️ Viewer | Read-only. See records, change nothing |
The farm owner is the account holder and always retains full control, including billing.
Choosing a Role
- A spouse or business partner running the farm with you → Admin
- A farm hand, apprentice, or family member logging chores and treatments → Editor
- A farm sitter covering a weekend → Editor if they need to record what they did, Viewer if they only need to see the care schedule
- A vet or consultant you want to give a look at the records → Viewer
Prefer the smallest role that works
Editor covers nearly every practical case. Admin also grants settings, finances, and the ability to add or remove other members — worth reserving for people who genuinely need it.
What Team Members See
Members work with your farm's records, not a copy. Changes sync for everyone. Someone logging a treatment in the barn shows up on your dashboard immediately.
Removing Access
Remove a member at any time from the Team screen. Records they created stay — the work doesn't vanish with the person.
