Feed is usually the largest recurring cost on a goat farm and the easiest to lose track of.
Feed Items
Each feed you stock records:

Low-Stock Alerts
When quantity drops below your threshold, the app flags it. Enable Supply Running Low in notification settings to get told rather than having to look.
Set the threshold to the point where you'd want to order, not the point where you'd run out — hay deliveries and feed store trips both take lead time.
Feed Logging & Cost
Logging feed usage connects consumption to cost, and cost to the animals it fed. That flows into:
- Expense tracking — feed as a category in finances
- Cost per goat — what an animal actually costs to keep
- Growth reports — feed against gain, for anyone finishing animals
Many farms track purchases and inventory without logging daily feeding, and still get most of the value — cost totals, low-stock warnings, and a real feed spend figure. Per-animal feeding detail is worth it mainly if you're comparing feed efficiency between groups.
