Linear Appraisal Scores

Linear Appraisal (LA) is an evaluation of a goat's physical structure scored on a scale of 50-95.

Recording LA Scores​

  1. Go to a goat's profile → Shows tab
  2. Tap Add LA Score
  3. Enter the appraisal date, final score, and individual trait scores
  4. Save

Score Breakdown​

LA evaluates general appearance, dairy strength (dairy breeds), body capacity, mammary system (does), and individual trait scores for specific characteristics.

Using LA Data​

LA scores help with breeding decisions — pair goats that complement each other's weaknesses. High LA scores also increase a goat's market value.
