Recording a Vaccination
Log it as a health event: ☰ More → 🏥 Health → Add Health Event → 💉 Vaccination, or from the goat's own Health tab.
Record the product, date, dose, route, lot number, and the next due date. The next-due date is what drives reminders, so it's the field worth not skipping.
If a vaccine batch is recalled, or a group of animals reacts, the lot number is how you work out which animals were affected. It takes five seconds at the time and is unreconstructable later.

Anything not listed can be entered by hand — rabies, for instance, where it's required.
CDT
The core goat vaccination, covering Clostridium perfringens types C and D (enterotoxaemia) and tetanus. The usual pattern is an initial two-dose series a few weeks apart, then annual boosters, with does often boosted ahead of kidding so antibodies pass through the colostrum.
Kids get a CD&T milestone at around day 42 in the nursery, which completes itself when you log the vaccination.

Vaccinating with a CL bacterin causes animals to test positive on CL serology, and there's no test that distinguishes a vaccinated animal from an infected one.
That means a vaccinated goat can't demonstrate CL-negative status — which affects sales, shows, and buying into or out of a clean herd. Many breeders in CL-free herds deliberately don't use it for exactly this reason.
It's a real decision with real consequences, not a routine addition to the schedule. Talk to your vet before starting, and if you do vaccinate, record it clearly — a buyer who tests your goat later deserves to know why the result looks the way it does.
Seeing Who's Due
Recorded next-due dates surface as:
- Calendar entries on the due date
- Dashboard alerts for anything overdue
- Vaccinations Overdue push notifications — on by default in notification settings
Worth running through before show season, before a sale, and before kidding season starts.
Recurring Schedules
For vaccinations the whole herd gets on a cycle, a health protocol schedules it once and keeps generating reminders rather than you re-entering next-due dates each year.
For a two-dose series with a fixed gap, a treatment plan handles both doses — including the booster that's easy to forget three weeks later.
