Nursery & Kid Milestones
Kidding season produces a lot of small animals who all need something at slightly different times. The Nursery keeps them in one place.
Opening the Nursery

Every kid under six months old appears automatically once they're recorded — nothing to add or maintain. They drop off on their own as they age out.
The nursery separates:
- Bottle babies — kids you're feeding
- Supplemented — dam-raised but getting help
- Dam-raised — on their mothers
Bottle Feeding
For bottle and supplemented kids you can log each feeding with time, amount, and milk type (colostrum, dam's milk, replacer). During a busy kidding season, "did anyone feed her at noon" stops being a question you answer from memory.
Feedings roll up per kid so you can see intake trends — the first sign a kid is fading is usually that she's taking less.
Weighing the Group
⚖️ Weigh All runs through the nursery kids in sequence rather than making you open each profile. Weekly weights on young kids catch trouble earlier than anything else you can do in five minutes.
Kid Milestones
Each kid card tracks the care every kid needs, with a target day based on their birth date:

Milestones complete themselves where they can. Log a disbudding health record and the milestone ticks over; it doesn't need marking twice.
Milestones that don't apply are hidden rather than nagging — a polled doeling shows neither disbudding nor banding.
The window is short — roughly the first week or two, depending on the kid and the breed. Miss it and you get scurs, permanently. The day-7 target is a prompt to check, not a deadline to hit exactly; some kids need it sooner.
Adding Your Own Milestones
Beyond the standard set, you can add custom milestones for how your farm does things — tattooing, a second CD&T, registration paperwork, a vet check. Set the day offset from birth and it applies to kids as they arrive, with an optional calendar reminder.
