Due Dates & Pregnancy Monitoring
Once a breeding is recorded, Herd Manager automatically calculates the expected due date and helps you monitor the pregnancy.
Automatic Due Date Calculation
The app uses standard gestation lengths: approximately 150 days for standard breeds and 145 days for miniature breeds. You can adjust the expected date manually if needed.
Pregnancy Timeline
The Breeding tab shows all pregnant does with a visual countdown showing days remaining until the due date, the breeding date and buck used, and a progress bar.
Monitoring Tips
At 140 days, start watching for pre-labor signs: udder development, ligament softening, and behavioral changes. Set up your kidding area.
Calendar Integration
Due dates automatically appear on your Calendar so you can plan around kidding season. The app also shows a 5-day window around the due date since goats rarely kid on their exact due date.
